Two pens are stronger than one
Are you a master and wanting to collaborate with Chess For Real? Do you have something to say, and you don’t know where? Or you just want the world know about your website or a service you are offering? Well, read then the collaboration guidelines:
If you are a master (Fide master, International Master or Grandmaster; women titles with the previous “W” apply the same) and you want to collaborate and/or be interviewed, you can send me an email here, the contact page, (subject: master for collaboration and/or interview) and we will adjust details. Please, include in the email your FIDE name, title, rating, and some way to check out your ID, (for example, an image of your id).
What are the benefits of being a collaborator?
- If you are the owner of a website (or more than one) we will publish all the direct links. The same for the offline addresses (it could be the club where you do your work as a coach). You will agree that all adresses, both online and offline are legal and relevant.
- We will publish about any kind of services you are offering (private lessons, chess books and/or chess products on sale, etc)
- We will publish a biographical note about you (written by you or not), a resume, chess results and any other personal achievement you think is important. Note: if the text is not written by us, we can make editorial corrections.
- Besides, we can translate the collaboration to the spanish language to publish it in AjedrezDeEntrenamiento.com
- This line is to include anything we could agree outside the previous ones.
You can collaborate with:
- Articles about chess teaching/learning/training techniques. Descriptions of methods that you have used to train yourself or others in your work as a chess coach.
- Articles about some part of any stage of the game (for example: bishop pair, middlegame; or rooks and one pawn, endgames, etc)
- Chess history (and chess stories as well), with some literary and/or historical value. If they have like a teaching, valuable for the chess reader, even better. We could make editorial corrections.
- Any idea outside that these already mentioned it could be subject to consideration after a previous contact.
You should avoid:
- Articles about openings. We know the importance of opening theory for the tournament player, but Chess For Real considers that it’s not the most appropriate moment to publish theoretical essays about openings. Chess For Real has plans to do so properly. However, if the collaborator has a witty angle on the presentation rather than just an exhibition of moves from books and novelties, transcending beyond the theory of the openings, and the content can be sustained over time because it’s not based on the chess fashion, then we could consider the publication.
- For the same reason, cheap collections about tactics, like “check mates in x moves”, or “black to play and win”. A collection about queen sacrifices could be beautiful, but is more useful to the chess amateur an article about the best conditions for a succesful piece sacrifice over the h6 pawn, just for example.
- For now, we should avoid texts about chess politics (congresses, elections, etc), and news about the chess world in general. Chess For Real has plans to include a news section in the future. For now we are commited to create a valuable content; this way an eager chessplayer can use it for his/her development to the mastership.
Please, notice that at the moment Chess For Real is not able to give you any financial compensation for the interviews or the materials submitted for publication; the compensation will come in the form of online traffic and direct business (private lessons, for example) that the advertised links will provide you.
Also, ultimately, Chess For Real may decide that the collaboration and/or interview will not be published, considering that its content is not helpful to readers. Of course the latter is an unlikely scenario, everyone has something valuable to say.
We understand as well this rules are very strict, but the commitment is to publish quality content.
Thanks for your interest in Chess For Real.
